During a thirty-second prayer,
my mind wanders for twenty-nine.
Within Earth's yearly revolution,
I stage my own countless times.
You see, there's no good within.
I'm filled with sin.
Yet, the Great I AM pursues me.
Holds me tight.
Looks past my stains.
Sees the child he made.
Recalls the price he paid.
Trades his perfection
for these failings.
On an instrument of death
his love played out.
Its crescendo echoes.
In, around me.
His love for me.
Astounding!
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 (NIV)
